Lintec Computer AG, a German manufacturer and distributor of personal computers has signed a distribution deal with Intel Corp for guaranteed supplies of the latter’s microprocessors and its networking equipment.
Intel director for Central Europe, Guenter Juenger, said in announcing the deal that it was provoked by the rapid growth of Lintec, from Taucha near Leipzig. Lintec, meanwhile, said it predicts additional revenue for the year 2000 in excess of DM70m ($38.4m) as a result of the Intel deal. The agreement with the US chipmaker will also facilitate Lintec’s move into mobile computing with the production of its own range of notebooks, the company said.
In March Lintec reported a net profit for 1998 up 511%, at the equivalent of $2.43m, on revenue that rose 223% to $215m (CI No 3,619).
