German internet and IT marketing services company 1&1 Aktiengesellschaft & Co KGaA has acquired a French company, Accesite SA, via its subsidiary 1&1 Online Dialog GmbH. The terms of the acquisition, which involved 100% of Paris-based Accesite’s shares, were not disclosed.

Montabaur-based 1&1 said the acquisition of Accesite was a further step in the European expansion of its internet advertising network, 1&1 AdLINK. 1&1 CEO Richard Seibt said that a presence in France is of particular importance for AdLINK, as many multinationals plan their pan-European marketing strategies from Paris.

Accesite claims to be France’s leading advertising network, with 30 million page views per month on a range of French media sites including those of the newspapers Le Figaro and La Tribune, as well as the sites of business publication Investir and Radio France. 1&1 said the French outfit expects to report revenue of around $12m this year.

As part of the build-out of AdLINK, 1&1 has previously acquired the leading Swedish advertising network, Adnet AB, and, together with its two acquisitions and other independent partners, the network is currently registering 250 million page views a month around Europe on 320 different web sites. In Germany alone, AdLink boasts 55 million page views per month.
