Infor Business Solutions AG, a German developer of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for small and medium-sized manufacturers, will debut on the Frankfurt Neuer Markt on May 11, after an initial public offering to help fund international expansion.

Based at Friedrichstahl in Germany’s Saarland region, Infor targets manufacturing SMEs (the so-called ‘Mittelstand’) with its infor.NT package, which runs on Microsoft’s main PC platforms (Windows 95, 98 and NT).

The price range for bookbuilding is due to be announced on 29 April, with the process itself running from April 30 to May 7, led by the Bayerische Hypovereinsbank AG, with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and the Badem-Wuerttembergische Bank also taking part.

The company has yet to disclose more detailed plans, but has already said that its target for the IPO is to raise at least DM100m ($55m) via an offering of some three million shares, primarily for expansion in Germany and abroad. Infor is currently present in eight countries in Europe, as well as in South Africa.

Infor, which converted to Aktiengesellschaft (AG) status in December in preparation for the flotation, reported revenue of DM69m ($37.8m) for 1998, up 105% on the previous year. It also moved into the black last year, with a net profit of DM660,000 ($360,000) compared to a net loss of $166,000 in 1997.
