GeoTel Communications Corp, based in Littleton, Massachusetts, has won a patent for technology used in its Intelligent CallRouter products. The Intelligent CallRouter is an enterprise- wide call routing system that links multiple call centers. GeoTel said the patent covers real-time, event-driven call routing architecture; centralized call control and distribution; global administration, management, and reporting; and multi-carrier, multi-vendor interface support and interoperability. CallRouter supports automatic call distributors from all the major vendors, including, most recently, Rockwell International Corp’s Spectrum Automatic Call Distributor. GeoTel has since won its first customer for the combination in the shape of Continental Airlines’ reservation call center. GeoTel filed for its initial public offering last October.
