Israel’s Geo Interactive Media Group has released the Emblaze VideoPro tool which allows developers to create streaming Web video files with synchronized audio for playback on a PC with a 28.8Kbps modem. VideoPro uses Geo’s Emblaze compression technology which enables multimedia files to be streamed over the internet without the need for plug-ins or complicated server software. Geo claims that VideoPro is compatible with all major video and web authoring tools. It offers features such as batch processing which allows developers to adjust settings once and compress multiple files without manually configuring the program each time; movie buffering which provides smoother playback by allowing developers to control the amount of buffering to compensate for natural fluctuations in connection bandwidth; frame resizing which creates larger or smaller frames without changing the original video file or having to use another software package; and sound track clean-up which prepares the audio track for better internet playback. The product will ship from mid-July at a street price of $295.
