Gensym Corp of Cambridge, Massachusetts has produced a version of its G2 real-time expert system for use on the DEC VAXstation 2000: G2 was previously established as a product for large applications with up to several thousand rules and an equal number of on-line data inputs to monitor, but Gensym has priced the VAXstation version at $18,000 and claims that it is the first product to focus on the low-end and mid-range deployment of real time expert systems, although it is functionally identical to other G2 versions and knowledge can be transferred from one machine to another.
