GENRAD’S SYSTEMS IMPROVE PRODUCTION OF THE JAGUAR XJ6

By CBR Staff Writer

The Jaguar XJ6 car will be that much better built and more reliable thanks to 775 test systems supplied to the Coventry, West Midlands company by GenRad Inc, Concord, Massachusetts: the $13m contract for diagnostic and fault location systems for the XJ6 resulted from a joint development between Jaguar and GenRad’s Cirrus Designs Ltd in Manchester; the custom-built Jaguar Diagnostic System is based on an enhanced version of the 2610 portable test system and the XJ6 has seven microcomputer modules to be checked out – to control timing and logic; engine management; instrument panel; air conditioning; cruise control; and anti-lock braking
