Dearborn, Michigan-based MCN Corp’s Genix Group is to manage Comshare Inc’s personal computer and server environments and to operate its international data network: MCN has formed a new unit, Genix Group Ltd, to serve England and Europe from London as a result of the agreement and Comshare says it hopes to achieve more cost flexibility by outsourcing information technology services while benefiting from the services that Genix can provide – it has provided IBM mainframe services to Comshare since 1986 but under the new agreement, Genix will provide mainframe services for another three years and will manage 15 local area networks, support more than 1,000 personal computers, operate Unix, VMS, OS/2 and NT servers, and an international network.
