Chantilly, Virginia-based Genicom Corp has a non-binding letter of intent to sell its Relay business unit to concentrate on its printer business, but isn’t disclosing the buyer’s identity or financial terms of the agreement; the unit is in Waynesboro, Virginia and employs about 300 people; it was acquired by Genicom in October 1983 as part of a management-led buyout of General Electric Co Inc’s data communication business products arm.
