GENERAL INSTRUMENT AND DSC COMMUNICATIONS PLAN CABLESPAN

General Instrument Corp has now signed a definitive agreement with DSC Communications Corp to create Cablespan, a broadband telecommunications system capable of providing video, telephony and data services, combining DSC’s Synchronous Optical Network-based access system with General Instrument’s Broadband Telecommunications Architecture for hybrid fibre and co-axial cable.
