GENERAL ELECTRIC IS TO SHUT DOWN ONE OF ITS MICROELECTRONICS CENTRE

General Electric Co, GE, is to shut its microelectronics centre at Somerville, New Jersey and consolidate all the work at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina by the end of March next year: 20 to 40 of the Somerville employees will be offered transfers below the Line, but the rest lose their jobs.
