Mediaware offers digital video processing software and systems for defense, intelligence and commercial customers. The company claims that its business defense system, the Digital Video Exploitation System (D-VEX), provides the US and international customers with real time video processing and full motion video from airborne electro optical and infrared sensors and sources. The D-VEX offers advanced processing such as georegistration, mensuration, coordinate marking, video-to-still image designing and object tracking of multiple moving targets in a live video stream.
General Dynamics said that after the acquisition, Mediaware would continue its operations from its current location, and will become a part of its Advanced Information Systems (AIS) business unit. Mediaware currently has approximately 40 employees.
This acquisition strengthens the ability of General Dynamics to offer intelligence analysts, war fighters and other customers fully integrated, standards-compliant solutions for real-time digital video processing and exploitation, said Lou Von Thaer, president at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.
