General Datacomm Industries Inc, Middlebury, Connecticut is to license Lexington, Kentucky-based DataBeam Inc’s Collaborative Computing Toolkit Series for incorporation into its Asynchronous Transfer Mode multimedia offerings. DataBeam’s tool technology and applications are based on the T.120 standards for multipoint data communications and control, developed by the International Telecommunications Union to establish interoperability among conferencing vendors, products and services. As part of the agreement, the General will also license DataBeam’s FarSite document conferencing application to sell as a companion to its present product, and in addition, the two have agreed on future joint development work in the Asynchronous Mode multimedia area.
