General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, said that it has been awarded $62m in task order to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). The contract has a four-year period of performance.

Under the contract having a four-year period of performance, GDIT will provide sustaining, uninterrupted information technology operations and maintenance support to INSCOM and its subordinate units, which requires to create and share critical intelligence products to Army users worldwide.

General Dynamics said that the order consists of networking and systems operations, help-desk management, network administration, and software and network maintenance, along with equipment repair either onsite or through warranty services.

In addition, it will also provide information assurance services to secure networks, systems and data from potential threats. Additionally, it will provide knowledge management offerings for INSCOM.

This contract will be conducted at the headquarters in Fort Belvoir, Virginia; and other locations including Fort Meade and Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Fort Sam Houston, Fort Bliss and Camp Bullis, Texas; Fort Huachuca, Arizona; Fort Bragg, North Calorina; and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

GDIT Intelligence Solutions Division senior vice president Thomas Kirchmaier said that they will work with the organisation to sustain IT operations, maximise enterprise-wide capability and lower possible risks to the network to develop an optimal environment for intelligence creation and dissemination.
