GEC TO KEEP PICKER IN THE US

Despite agreeing to sell its small medical electronics business in Europe to General Electric Co, GEC Plc has apparently decided to keep the Picker Inc business in the US, expand it and go it alone there in competition with both GE and Siemens AG: according to the Financial Times, it has retained Goldman Sachs & Co to look for US acquisitions for Picker, setting companies with $25m annual sales as the minimum size business it will consider.
