GEC Plc has put plans to invest UKP10m in a third research and development laboratory in Cambridge, to complement the ones in Wembley and Chelmsford, on hold pending a review of the company’s research needs: a decision on whether to proceed with the project or to abandon it is expected to be arrived at within the next three months.
