GEC “TO GET UKP10m UK SUPPORT FOR CMOS CHIP EXPANSION”

GEC will get up to UKP10m in backing from the UK Department of Trade & Industry towards a UKP40m expansion of the Marconi Electronic Devices plant in Lincoln, according to the Financial Times. GEC trails Plessey and Ferranti in chips, but wants to increase its capability in CMOS.
