GEC PLESSEY TELECOMMUNICATIONS SORTS OUT JOINT TENDER FOR SYSTEM X

GEC Plessey Telecommunications Ltd has now sorted out a joint tender for System X which is commercially acceptable to British Telecom after two months of negotiation: speculation ran that rival bidder Thorn Ericsson was awarded a generous proportion of tranche 13 compared to previous rounds back in January on the back of Telecom’s fears about the new company; Thorn-Ericsson is now expecting a further award to flow out of tranche 13.
