GEC IN COURT WITH PLESSEY CASE

GEC Plc had its day in court on Friday arguing that Plessey Co’s contention that by colluding with Siemens AG over the future of GEC Plessey Telecommunications Ltd it had triggered the clause that allows Plessey pre-emptive rights to buy GEC’s 50% stake in the business at a fair price was rubbish: the case continues today and a verdict is expected to be given tomorrow.
