GEC AND PLESSEY WITHDRAW FROM GALLIUM ARSENIDE PROJECT

Plans for a UK national manufacturing foundry for Gallium Arsenide semiconductor technology have collapsed following disagreements between the principals, GEC Plc and Plessey Co, which have both withdrawn from the project without giving any reason for their decisions.
