GATES CONSIDERS ESTABLISHING INDIAN OPERATION

Microsoft Corp chairman Bill Gates told the Economic Times that India could become a global software superpower and that all it needs is a few examples of successful companies. Gates also said his company is considering setting up a plant to produce software in India, and should make a decision in the next two years. It will invest nearly $1m over the next three years to help five universities improve research in information technology, he promised.
