Microsoft Corp chairman and chief executive Bill Gates is not too happy about that report in the Wall Street Journal saying that some of its business units are looking at cutting staff by 5%, saying that the report is inaccurate: We have no groups that are shrinking in any way, he said, but did concede that the growth of the company’s workforce is slowing in fiscal 1994 and he projected it will grow by between 10% to 15% compared with 30.9% to 14,400 last fiscal; the company acknowledged that managers had been asked to find ways to cut costs by about 5%, but that this was not a dictum to cut staff.
