GANDALF INVESTS IN FRANKLIN TELECOMMUNICATIONS

By CBR Staff Writer

Gandalf Technologies Inc has found a home for the profit on its Case Group Plc shares in the shape of US data communications equipment manufacturer Franklin Telecommunications Corp of Westlake Village, California. Details are sketchy, but Gandalf is to invest several million dollars in the company for a minority stake, and will get exclusive distribution rights for Franklin’s products in certain markets outside the US. Despite its name, Franklin began as a disk equipment company but wants to be doing $50m a year, 50% of its then total, in data communications kit by 1991. Gandalf may in return put some of its products out through Franklin.
