GALILEO FLIGHT RESERVATION SYSTEM IS TO USE SYSTEMS CENTER’S NET/MASTER

By CBR Staff Writer

The Galileo flight reservation system, which will link up travel agents all over Europe from autumn this year, is to use Systems Center Inc’s Net/Master rather than IBM’s NetView, although the chosen architecture is to be SNA – despite the fact that the traditional star configuration has proved to be unsuitable, reports Computerwoche: the Galileo consortium, led by British Airways Plc, chose Net/Master for its user-friendliness and ease of programming – it uses a fourth generation Network Control Language.
