Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd has launched a new desktop computer designed specifically for young women, the WiLL PC CF-E1. Featuring a built-in liquid-crystal display and a compact futuristic design that enables the keyboard to be stored under the two-tone silver and blue unit, it comes with a DVD-ROM drive and IEEE1394 ports for AV functions.

According to Matsushita, the PC will be mainly targeted at working women in their mid to late twenties who are likely to be use computers at work but may be first-time buyers of a home PC. The computer is one of the products designed for a joint marketing project in which several major companies in different sectors are working together to produce goods for young consumers under the WiLL brandname. The other four are Toyota Motor Corp, Asahi Breweries Ltd, cosmetic and perfume maker Kao Corp and Kinki Nippon Tourist Co.
