By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu Ltd’s newly-established joint venture in India with Madya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corp Ltd and two other companies to develop, manufacture and market transmission and radio communications systems in India will be 61%-owned by the Japanese company; the Development Corp-owned Optel and its OTL subsidiary will have 17% each and Virgo Marketing Pte Ltd 5% of the new company. Fujitsu will transfer technologies to the joint venture and already supplies systems to OTL which in turn has supplied about 70% of the optical transmission systems and multiplexers in India. Fujitsu expects the venture to have turnover of $28m in 1995 and $56m in 1997 and to employ 300 people.
