FUJITSU “TO ASSEMBLE M-SERIES IN SPAIN THIS YEAR”

Japanese press stories are notoriously unreliable, frequently being made up from wishful thinking and misunderstanding in equal parts, but the Nippon Koyo Shimbun reports that Fujitsu Espana will begin assembling M-series IBM-compatible mainframes for the European market later this year. Fujitsu, which has a majority stake in the Spanish company in partnership with Compania Telefonica Nacional de Espana, has announced only that it will begin manufacture of matrix printers shortly at a rate of 2,000 a month.
