Fujitsu America has entered into a 10-year outsourcing agreement with Alliance Data, a provider of loyalty and marketing services.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu will assume the Alliance Data Information Technology Services (ITS) function, which provides services to Alliance Data business units, as well as five other existing clients. In addition, Fujitsu will manage the existing Tier 3 datacentre, assets and personnel. The combined initial annual value to Fujitsu is estimated to be greater than $40 million.
The contract is expected to commence from July 1, 2009.
Fujitsu said that as part of the agreement, it would assume responsibility for certain resources, assets, and facilities associated with the provision of services to Alliance Data and other clients. More than 180 information technology professionals are expected to join the Fujitsu team and provide its clients additional senior-level experience in mainframe, mid-range, server, networking and service desk operations.
