FUJITSU SELLS VP SUPERCOMPUTER OUTSIDE JAPAN UNDER OWN NAME

Fujitsu Ltd has made the first sale of a member of its VP supercomputer family outside Japan under its own name – Amdahl Corp does market the things too, and has sold a couple in Norway and one or two here, and Siemens AG also markets them, and the two have so far placed 16 of the pricey things: the customer, for the Facom VP-100 model – is the Australian National Unversity (and to think that a few years ago, you could get drummed out of Australia’s influential and tightly knit Returned Services League for driving a Japanese car into the car park!); no price, but the thing rents for about $376,000 a month;
