Fujitsu has released the tally of sales so far for its VP family of scientific supercomputers: all told, it says it has orders for 32 of which 26 have already gone in; the entry-level 22Mflops VP-30 has sold six since launch last September; the VP-50 has sold 14, and customers include Ishikawaharima, Sharp, Kawasaki Steel, and Olympus; the VP-100 and VP-200 have sold 14 all told, and the top-end VP-400 has sold just two, to the Recruit Space and Aeronautical Research centre; all run the MVS/XA-compatible OSIV/MSP plus additional VCPF control program software.
