FUJITSU PERFECTS THE BASIC TECHNOLOGY TO FABRICATE 64-BIT MEMORY CHIPS

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu Ltd claims it has perfected the basic technology to fabricate 64M-bit – 8Mb – memory chips, applying techniques that will initially be used to manufacture 16M-bit memory chips: the news caused a raised eyebrow or two because the company did not present a paper on its 16M-bit part at the International Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco in February, but the computer giant has reportedly now shown off its new technology, demonstrating that it can manufacture 16M-bit dynamic memory chips very easily.
