Fujitsu Microelectronics Inc has formally opened its first US wafer fabrication plant, in Gresham, Oregon: to start with, it will manufacture Application Specific Integrated Circuits in CMOS, the BiCMOS Bipolar-CMOS combination, and ECL; in early 1989, Fujitsu plans to add dynamic RAM fabrication in Gresham.
