Fujitsu Microelectronics Inc has signed with Sun Microsystems Inc to license Sun’s picoJava microprocessor core, which it will use in its own system offerings as well as selling to the merchant market. Sun says this will increase the momentum behind Java-enabled devices. Fujitsu will incorporate the core in consumer and communications devices such as web phones, cellular phones and network computers.
