Fujitsu Ltd has introduced 500MHz Pentium III Xeon CPUs across its teamserver range and introduced five new boxes based on the Intel Corp chip. The Japanese firm, which signed on as an OEM when the new server CPU was introduced (CI No 3,621), will initially market the machines in the US and Asia-Pacific region.

Fujitsu has added two new machines to its top of the range data server series, the M880ic and MM890ic which use the Pentium III Xeon with 1Mb and 2Mb level 2 cache respectively. In the mid-range, Fujitsu has introduced two new models, the L870I and L880I enterprise series which have a 100MHz bus and increased level 2 cache memory. Finally, the company has announced a single processor LAN server, the C370I. The company has not announced pricing or availability details of the new range.
