FUJITSU-ICL AND SK TECHNOLOGIES TEAM ON RETAIL

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu-ICL Systems Inc and SK Technologies Corp have struck a purchasing agreement that will provide fully integrated point-of-sale workstations of unlimited processing power and functionality at the store and headquarters level in the US. Boca Raton, Florida-based SK Technologies develops retail software while Fujitsu-ICL Systems provides the hardware. The agreement is the first step in implementing a new retail selling strategy for Fujitsu-ICL, which will combine SK Technology’s StoreKare software technology with its hardware to offer their resellers both premium and standard point-of-sale systems. Additionally, StoreKare can be sold as systems independent software compatibile with vendor equipment. Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu-ICL resellers will sell and install StoreKare as the preferred retail point-of-sale application. SK Technologies will remain responsible for duplicating and shipping of software and documentation. The two companies will support the agreement with co-operative marketing and development efforts.
