FUJITSU HAS PATENT DATA MANAGER, PM SERVER

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu Ltd, which is already the market leader in sales of electronic patent-management systems, has announced a specialised system for management of large amounts of patent data, called the PM Server: with 2.8Gb of hard disk and a high-speed processor, combined with specialised software for electronic management of documents, the system is priced at $315,000 and Fujitsu hopes to sell 150 over three years; since last year, the Japanese Patent Office has implemented an electronic patent application submission system designed to save paper, thus providing vendors such as Fujitsu, NEC Corp and Toshiba Corp with opportunities for systems sales.
