Fujitsu Ltd’s agreement with Malaysian company Kub Holdings Sdn Bhd for a joint venture to manufacture and market digital PABXs (CI No 2,015) will result in formation of Kub-Fujitsu Telecommunications (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which will be capitalised at $4.5m, with Kub having 70%, Fujitsu 25% and Japanese trader Marubeni Corp the other 5%. The company will be formed this month and will have an initial staff of 60, and sees first year sales of $16m, doubling within five years. Fujitsu has 2,500 wireless systems installed in Malaysia, over half the market, and has also begun to procure optical transmission systems from Malaysia.
