Fujitsu builds IT outsourcing deal at Davis Langdon

Construction consultancy aims for reduced costs, helpdesk calls

By Steve Evans

Fujitsu has announced that it has secured a five-year, £27.5m outsourcing contract with Davis Langdon LLP to manage its IT infrastructure and IT services for over 2,000 staff across Europe and the Middle East.

Davis Langdon LLP is a construction consultancy, whose projects include the Westfield shopping centre in London, Liverpool One, the Tate Modern and Cornwall’s Eden Project.

Fujitsu will provide a service desk, application and infrastructure support, desktop managed services, network management and the provision of storage and computer capacity through Fujitsu’s utility-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform, the company said.

Neil Ashton, head of procurement and supplier management for Davis Langdon said: “The RFI we issued in the spring had a number of challenging requirements and throughout the tender process, Fujitsu showed us that it could meet all of these demands. From being able to reduce the level of fixed costs in the existing service, to offering a flexible support model across the regions to vary the level of support and cost, to aid in cost management as well reducing the volume of calls to the helpdesk.”

Fujitsu’s other clients include New Durham College, BT, Centrica and Talk Talk.
