FUJITSU ARMS COME UP WITH 8-BIT FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER LINE

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu Ltd, in conjunction with its affiliate Fujitsu Devices, has developed, an 8-bit one-chip fuzzy logic controller line called the MB94140 series: Fujitsu says that this is the first time that an 8-bit CPU and a fuzzy inference engine have been incorporated into a single chip and it expects the thing to find its way into consumer white goods such as air conditioners, washing machines and microwave ovens, as well as vending machines; the chip is also being supplied with a fuzzy system development tool kit that outputs assembler source for the MB94140 series and runs on AT-compatible MS-DOS personal computers as well as Fujitsu’s FMR MS-DOS series.
