Fujitsu Ltd has announced the Facom 1960 modem network management system for integrated management of modems in a network: it controls the data transmission speed between different makes of computers, and detects incipient failure; the Facom 1960 manages up to 4,096 modems on 112 lines and costs about $64,000; sales target is 100 in three years.
