FUJITSU ANNOUNCES 32-BIT MULTIPROCESSOR PC

Fujitsu Ltd has announced a 32-bit multiprocessor personal computer, the FMR-50 Lambda, and a multi-function Facom 9450 machine: the launches are being read as a sign that the 9450 range will be integrated into the more popular FMR series: the new FMRs can run both MS-DOS and the APCS operating system from the 9450, and will form a bridge into the use of Japanese language OS/2; the new FMR-50 Lambda is 1.7 times faster than its predecessor, the FMR-50, and in floppy disk version is $4,000; 20Mb hard disk model, $5,160, 40Mb $5,840.
