After more than five years of manufacturing exclusively for US customers, Fujitsu America Inc has started exporting some of its local output: it has sent some $3m of US-made disk drives, cellular car phones and modems to Canada, New Zealand, South America and Europe; Fujitsu America now has 4,000 employees in 34 US states and in Canada, and its US facilities include five manufacturing plants and seven product development centres.
