Fujitsu Ltd has announced a tie-up with Harting Elektron GmbH of Espelkamp, Germany for the long-term transfer of high-precision connector technology and the OEM supply of products: the tie-up was initiated by Harting, which takes seventh place in the European market for connectors and is the market leader has top share for DIN connectors, with manufacturing locations in Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong; Harting wants to get its hands on the rights to Fujitsu’s half-pitch connectors and memory card connectors, while Fujitsu gains access to the European market for connectors and an inside view of the developing new standards for connectors in Europe; Harting was founded in 1945, has 1,650 staff and boasts an annual turnover of some $121m.
