Fujitsu unveils new cloud-based energy management system

Can centrally manage power data from all locations of an enterprise

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu has unveiled a cloud-based energy management system (EMS) service, Enetune, which the company says will be available at the end of June.

The new EMS service collects energy data from all of a company’s business locations, and then consolidates and centrally manages this data in the cloud to provide integrated and cross-sectional clarity to the organisation’s energy usage.

As per the cloud-based service, Fujitsu will enable companies to compare and evaluate power usage efficiency across multiple business locations and implement effective countermeasures.

The new service offers power demand forecasting capabilities that employ the technology from Fujitsu Laboratories, and supports enterprise energy management and optimises energy usage of enterprises.

It employs Fujitsu’s FGCP/S5 public cloud service to consolidate and centrally manage power data from all of a company’s business locations.

The system also conducts constant power usage monitoring, and will use methods such as sending an e-mail from a data centre to warn users if their power consumption is expected to exceed from the levels mentioned in their electric utilities agreement.

The company will perform on-site diagnoses of the energy usage status of all of a customer’s own buildings and shared facilities, and then suggests ways to the customer for saving power.
