Fujitsu releases IPX5/7 water-resistant, fingerprint sensor tablet

Includes i-Filter for Android web filtering application, allowing users to browse the Internet smoothly

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu has released ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi, a new IPX5/7 water-resistant, fingerprint sensor technology tablet PC for consumers in the ARROWS series of tablets and smartphones.

ARROWS Tab Wi-Fi has high-speed Wi-Fi data communications, high-speed and high-efficiency dual core CPU, DLNA support, and a highly responsive Saku-Saku Touchpanel. With the touch panel’s special surface processing, called Super Glide Coating, users can move about through the tablet’s touch panel operations.

Fujitu’s new tablet features a 10.1 inch large screen display, DolbyMobile v3 front speakers, F-Link wireless data exchange application, which enables users to connect to Fujitsu FMV PCs and load recorded TV programmes onto their tablet using a mobile export function. It also includes i-Filter for Android web filtering application that allows users to browse the Internet smoothly.

If authentication data, such as account IDs and passwords, are registered, one fingerprint enables the registered data to be accessed and managed, which would mean that users need not storethis information. It is easy to release the screen lock from sleep mode just by touch of the finger over the fingerprint sensor

In addition, the new tablet sports a built-in cameras (backside:5.1 megapixel, frontside:1.3 megapixel) that can recognise hand gestures for operation, without directly touching the screen and also a OMAP4 (1GHz) dual core CPU for processing performance.

With the tablet’s "smooth display" frame enhancement technology, which enables a 15 frames/second video clip to play at 30 frames/second, it lets users watch one-segment video content. The tablet can connect to DLNA-compliant Blue-ray disk recorders and other devices and lets you view streams of recorded terrestrial digital broadcast programs in Hi-Vision resolution.
