Fujitsu, together with Bankwest, has opened an advanced, environmentally sustainable data centre in Perth, Australia to service the booming West Australian market and target the growing cloud offering opportunities in Asia.
The new data centre in Perth is a 8,000sq m complex that provides more than 3,000sq m of Tier III, highly secure raised floor space; three main data halls suitable for cabinet and cage installations; and three smaller data halls to be customised for companies requiring dedicated private suites.
The Perth facility is backed by sophisticated building control management systems that remotely monitor and adjust power settings throughout the complex and incorporates biometric and other security technologies to deliver data integrity and resilience.
Fujitsu said that the facility also features sophisticated metering capabilities to support client compliance with energy legislation.
Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand CEO Rod Vawdrey said the company has set a new level for Australian data centre design, construction and management.
"This significant investment in world class data centre infrastructure also supports our positioning as an environmentally responsible partner by extending our leadership in sustainable technology," Vawdrey said.
