Fujitsu has launched a new version of its high-speed, in-memory data management software, Primesoft Server v1.1.
The new offering is available only in Japan and provides microsecond (one-millionth of a second)-level processing, said the company.
The new software’s automatic data redundancy delivers reliability and scalability that allows operations to continue even while the system is undergoing expansion, the company said.
The new Primesoft Server features additional functionality for enabling continuous 24/7 uptime. The software runs on the company’s PRIMEQUEST mission-critical IA servers and the PRIMERGY BX blade servers.
The Primesoft Server v1.1 features include: microsecond-level high-speed access; data redundancy for high-reliability and rapid data-recovery; flexible system scalability; and 24/7 operations.
Tokyo Stock Exchange senior managing director and chief information officer Yoshinori Suzuki said the Primesoft Server has supported the acceleration of their new trading system, ‘arrowhead’.
"With Primesoft Server’s fast performance, we were able to vastly exceed our performance targets for arrowhead when building the system, and have achieved response speeds of 2 milliseconds, a thousand times faster than before," Suzuki said.
"This has allowed us to develop a new business model for stock transactions and has greatly helped to reinvigorate the market."
