Fujitsu has launched the Si-R 6200, a gigabit access router that delivers 650Mbps in VPN throughput, in Japan.

The new router is part of Fujitsu’s Si-R series of IP access routers for building corporate network systems.

The Si-R G200 can accommodate high-speed WAN services in excess of 100Mbps, such as FLET’S Hikari Next or au Hikari. It can even be used as a centre router for medium-sized branch offices, said the company.

The router can also accommodate LTE and other high-speed wireless WAN services when a data communication card is used. It can be used to set up virtual networks at temporary offices or event venues as well.

As with other models in the Si-R series, the Si-R G200 supports configurations, evaluations, and migrations in the IPv6 environment.

The new Si-R G200 features include: VPN throughput of 650Mbps; high-speed WAN services; support of LTE and other high-speed WAN services; safe and secure network continuity; and ability to be set up without a PC.
