Fujitsu has introduced new REGZA Phone IS04 smartphone from Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications that will be available only in Japan from KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular Telephone firm, beginning 10 February 2011.
The IS04 is an Android OS-based water-resistant smartphone available from au, which features the Mobile REGZA Engine, a 12.2 megapixel high-performance and high-resolution camera, Osaifu-Keitai, and infrared communications, said the company.
The device is also claimed to be compatible with au’s new WIN HIGH SPEED service, which can be used to download applications, send and receive movies at downlink speeds of up to 9.2Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 5.5Mbps.
In addition, the mobile phone’s 1GHz CPU chipset allows users to browse the web and play YouTube videos with comfort, said the company.
Fujitsu said that the smatphone utility features include ATOK — an input system that displays the most appropriate word options based on the word’s context.
The device alos has E-mail/C-mail compatibility, automatic e-mail receiving, pictograms and decoration mail and employs NX!UI interface.
By using NX!UI, teh company claims, users can set function icons from 17 different options, and instantly access applications and features by sliding the screen to the left or right with their finger.
