Fujitsu has created 192 jobs in Northern Ireland with a £12m investment.

The IT services and product firm said 177 full-time positions and 15 apprenticeships have been created in Londonderry as it establishes a new business services centre at its existing Timber Quay site.

The technology company will fund the centre to the tune of £12m over the next three years, while Invest Northern Ireland has brought a further £900,000 towards the full-time positions.

Those job roles will cover admin, finance, procurement and HR to support the Japanese business’s internal operations, as well as technical and software-oriented roles to support ongoing work across the private and public sectors.

Greg McDaid, Fujitsu’s client MD, said: "This important investment announcement confirms Fujitsu’s commitment to the Northern Ireland economy and reinforces our position as a leading IT services supplier to the public and private sectors throughout these islands.

"This business services centre will now form an important part of our overall strategy to achieve business growth in this region."

The investment will take Fujitsu’s number of employees across Northern Ireland to more than 1,000.
